Title:
General Manager,
DLP Products

Company:
Texas Instruments

Q: What is your dream sale?

A: That's a tough one. We're in the fortunate position of working with just about every major projector manufacturer in the world - and we have interest from more manufacturers than we can handle. But instead of talking about my 'dream sale', can I talk about my vision? If we can get to where we want to be - where we know we can be - there will be a projector in every conference room, office and computer bag, a home entertainment system in every living room and a digital projector in every movie theater in the world - and they'll all feature DLP technology. Wouldn't that be something?

Q: What do you want most for your company?

A: We've seen just phenomenal growth since the first products enabled by DLP technology came to market: the business has doubled in size every year to the point where, even in a huge corporation like Texas Instruments, DLP Products is becoming an increasingly significant entity. So I'd like for that growth - or something very close to it - to continue. But if I could have one wish - and this is what everything we do is all about - it's that we would establish DLP technology as being synonymous with the best image quality you can get. Our development, our marketing, projects like the DLP Cinema project - they're all geared towards delivering the optimum in image quality whether it be graphic, images or video.

Q: (Optional: for-fun question): What is a little-known fact about you or your company?

A: It's not really about the company, but very few people know that Dr. Larry Hornbeck - who invented this amazing technology and who you'd think had a pretty discerning eye for a good image - only owns an analog TV that's over eighteen years old.
