3. Yes, networking education is available: ICIA (the INFOCOMM people), in fact, is putting the finishing touches, this week, on a completely Web-driven educational course on networking technology for AV people. Perfect timing, huh? Well, if you want to find about it as soon as it's available for sale (it will be $99), simply subscribe to ICIA's educational newsletter called EduBlast. You can do that by going to their web site at http://www.icia.org/education/edublast/edublast.htm and adding your e-mail address to the EduBlast subscriber list. ICIA has promised to announce it via EduBlast as soon as the course is ready for prime time.

4. This is not something new: Almost all of us use networks every day. Most of our computers are connected to an internal corporate server that manages information flow within our organization from computer to computer and even through to the Internet. So, networking AV gear will really not be that revolutionary for our IT departments. It will be a lot like the way we print a document today. But, instead of going to FILE then PRINT, we might see FILE and then PROJECT.

OK, next week we'll be on to new stuff - not networking. But, I promise that we will continue to provide you information, as it becomes available, in the integration of IT in the AV market as it happens. So, no worries mate (I just came back from doing training in Australia so I had to throw that in).
