Just for the heck of it, here's a column dedicated to all the newcomers out there who don't know anything about who's who in the ProAV market. I hope this helps you get started.

ICIA: ICIA (the International Communications Industries Association) is the ProAV market's industry association. They host the annual "big trade show" for ProAV and presentation products called INFOCOMM. INFOCOMM is the premiere trade show for presentation products and is held annually (the next two years in June in Las Vegas) and is THE SHOW where most manufacturers debut their major new product introductions for the 3rd and 4th quarter of the year. It's got one of the premiere special events, the Shoot-Out, that is a room where virtually every projector is displayed side-by-side so you can make a visual judgment in quality and performance. In addition, a few other special events, the Projection Encounter and the Audio Encounter, are great educational interactive learning events for all professional levels. They will help you learn about display technology and the science of audio. Speaking of education, ICIA also has the industry's largest educational seminar selections (given annually at INFOCOMM). At this year's show, there will be nearly 100 seminars on technology in the ProAV market. Check out ICIA at www.icia.org and check out INFOCOMM at www.infocomm.org.
