Q: What do you believe were the biggest changes in the industry in the last five years? How did they change things and what impact did those changes have?

A: On the supply side, we've seen a tsunami of lower priced, high quality products come to market. Some reasons?

For us as rearpro (rear projection) practitioners in the UK, the sudden move from CRT to single lens projector technologies. Making rearpro product for these devices required higher tolerances and also had an impact on perceived cost, especially when the projector prices began to fall.

Q: What is the state of the market now? What are the propelling forces and what are the barriers to growth?

A: The UK market is just great. The barriers to growth are the limitations of the pro-AV practitioners. Most projects over here are in some way influenced or purchased by IT managers. The demand will continue to grow rapidly, the question is to which extent the IT installation companies will want to add AV to their 'we-can-do-this' portfolio.
