After last week's column, I had a record number of e-mail follow-up. It was really cool to see that people are reading KNews and listening to what I have to say - agree or not. Out of all the responses I got, three were questioning my theory about the so-called potential recession having no impact on the AV economy, yet. I thought about not even bothering to write a follow-up, as there were over 150 positive responses. But, one trend among the three emerged that I feel is important to note: Coincidence or not, all three were from AV rental/staging companies. Well, I was once told by a friend of mine, who works for one of the USA's largest staging firms, that if you really want to test something out (he was referring to a product in this case) send it to a rental/staging company. Well, if that theory holds true for the impact of the economy on AV, maybe there is something to consider. So, I did some research. After talking with many of my of my friends at rental/staging companies over the past three days, I have concluded that I am, apparently, still on target. I stand behind the theory that the supposed slow-down has not, yet impacted the AV market and may not at all. But, then again, I could be wrong.
