I saw your article
at www.presentationmaster.com. I very glad you covered this topic because
I was a victim of this type of fraud recently.
From my experience, I wanted to point out a couple of things that make
the news worse. First, I had a signed fax outlining the exact item being
purchased and the exact amount of the purchase, as well as the card
# and other info. I was charged back without the credit card processing
company even ASKING TO SEE WHAT DOCUMENTION I HAD. They take the money
first, and in my case, make you come to them to protest the chargeback.
Second, the process of trying to get your money back, again in my case,
is 9 months to a year.
I think that people
should know that credit card processing companies do not care about
the merchants, but only themselves. To make their money, they will take
the customers word over the merchant, again in my case, without even
giving the merchant a chance to justify the charge.
Thanks again for
a great article. I hope it helps people to realize that overseas business
generally isn't worth the risk.
