The "International" in ICIA:

InfoComm Europe Seminars - 12-14 September, Cologne, Germany

A seminar program open to all attendees free of charge will be offered at InfoComm Europe. Each day focuses on a theme:

- Wednesday, 12 September (AV and IT in the 21st Century)
- Thursday, 13 September (The European Systems Integration Market - Today and Tomorrow)
- Friday, 14 September (The Future of Display Technology)

Institute for Professional Development - 18-20 September, New Zealand

The New Zealand Institute in Auckland focuses on developing and honing your sales skills with the IPD course, "Professional Sales Skills for the Audio Visual Industry," Tuesday through Thursday. In addition, you can come a day earlier for InfoComm Academy's Presentation Seminar Series on 17 September, "Creating Powerful Presentations" or "Delivering Presentations Without the Panic." Then wrap up the week with the Educational Communications Foundation's golf event, a perfect opportunity to network and entertain your customers. The South East Asia Audiovisual Boot Camp - 25 October - 17 November

InfoComm Academy presents for the first time a three-day regional education curriculum, sponsored by Epson. Participants have a choice of 4 cities: Kuala Lampur, Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta. Taught by Scott Wills, CTS, Senior Staff Instructor for ICIA, the course provides an overview of Facilities, Systems Design and Installation. At the end of the 3 days, participants will be able to demonstrate:
- drawing of proper viewing area for a screen on a floor plan
- selection of appropriate screen size for audience and content
- positioning projectors for optimum image quality
- design of distributed sound system for even speaker coverage on a floor plan
- drawing of conference room system using block diagrams
- ability to select the proper cable for a given task
- knowledge of signal separation practices during installation.

Enroll for Design Courses (and the CTS-D exam) - Anaheim, California
There is still room in Facilities Design (October 14-18), Systems Design (November 11-15) and the specialized Certified Technology Specialist-Design exam (November 16-17) at the Extron Electronics training facility in Anaheim.
