How many times do
customer support teams for dealers and integrators answer calls from
users who can't make the right connections? How many projectors have
hand-written instructions taped on the wall next to them? Even the most
sophisticated of us hate fumbling around with connections.
SmartPanel from SP Controls, now shipping nationwide, is designed to
make connections easier for even the newest of users.
The SmartPanel is
a video projector controller for installed projectors that makes presentation
technology easy to use. Target markets include education of all levels,
corporate, government, military, houses of worship and more.
One benefit the controller offers is the ability to standardize customers
who have multiple installations. In a school, for example, each classroom
can use the same controller regardless of which projectors and peripherals
are installed, or how they change over the years. Another is that the
controller doesn't require configuration of any kind -- installers,
or even users, can just run the setup software embedded in the controller.
There are other benefits, such as a variable automatic shutdown timer,
designed to maximize lamp life,
The panel is available in two sizes (10.25" X 8.25" X 1.0" and 10.25"
X 3.125" X .75"), there are different audio options, and modules allow
expansion of the system. The large chassis model allows for four modules,
which are chosen and attached during the installation. These modules
provide high-quality connector hardware, such as BNC's and RCA audio
connectors, as well as pre-printed legends for identifying the inputs
(or types) associated with each module. Every input module features
a window that allows backlit legend to displayed, as well as a prominent
selection button placed immediately above the patch-point connection.
There are a number of mounting options, too, including boxes, drawers
and rack mounts.
The SmartPanel is available through distributors, and you can get that
list from the company Website at http://www.spcontrols.com.
