In addition to the basic warping capabilities, you can add points, edit them and convert them. You can adjust the influence of the curves. And you can choose to create your envelope using a freehand path creation tool or a marquee tool.
In addition, the Putty effect also includes tools similar to those found in Photoshop's "Liquify," including brushes that twist, sweep and bulge, as well as an ironing (undo) brush. You can also adjust the size, opacity and feathering of the various warping brushes for more precise control. I can't imagine anybody reading this article who hasn't at least a dozen times been confronted with the problem of distorting layers in Photoshop and not finding the necessary tools. Putty is a simple and elegant solution to this problem. I still can't get over it.
But enough about that. What else can this software do?
DreamSuite Series 1 includes several filters that can be categorized broadly as surface effects. Three of these are designed to produce metallic effects, from simple chiseling effects to reflective metals to mixed metal surfaces.
The Liquid Metal filter provides a variety of reflective materials, with bevels and textures.
The Chisel filter provides some of the same functionality as Liquid Metal but adds a variety of different textures and more extensive control over the bevel, including 11 fully customizable basic bevels.
