Widescreen DVDs didn’t need much help from a scalar — simple line-doubling was sufficient (the vertical resolution is only 480 pixels anyway). HDTV looked even better, particularly the 720p test material. From a distance of eight to 10 feet, the TH-42PWD3 looked as good as the Princeton AF3.0HD 16:9 reference monitor.
