University of Virginia business school

How can universities better prepare graduates for the real world? Here is one example from the University of Virginia where technology is used in the classroom to mirror a typical workplace.

Professors at the University of Virginia business school are using a high-tech financial center to fundamentally transform teaching of business and finance in the classroom. Designed to train potential stockbrokers, the center creates an environment similar to Wall Street.

The center is equipped with four Proxima Pro AV 9320 projectors, four Da-Lite screens, Crestron control systems and and 62 Telerate financial workstations. This allows faculty and students to develop portfolios, build financial models, test ideas and trading systems at their workstations, while watching markets and events unfold in real time.

The Pro AV 9320 is the most flexible projection solution today because of its direct connectivity to the latest digital standards and its wide selection of lenses for any large or small room. The projectors allow students to view the stock market from different work areas, alleviating the need to crowd around a single workstation.
