Using a 12 by eight matrix switcher, any combination of sources can be routed to any combination of display groups to allow simultaneous viewing of multiple sporting events. Display sources include computer inputs for the 100" rear-projection systems as well as the 35" monitors, a VHS deck and four DSS Satellite receivers and RF antennae system. Complete control of the entire application is managed through the AMX control system that's housed in the manager's office. Source preview is accomplished simply by using a 13" monitor in the rack.

Because of the size of the facility, the acoustics of the room - which includes tiled floors and walls, a metal and truss ceiling and hard table surfaces - special attention was paid to the design of audio so that it could not only be heard, but also understood by everyone. In addition, the sound system is used not only for listening to the program material (DSS, PC audio and VHS decks), but also accommodates the use of microphones for applications such as pep rallies, awards banquets and announcements. The speaker compliment features four custom stainless-steel pod fixtures which support a subwoofer and four program audio speakers, wireless microphones with feedback suppressors provide public-address capability for pep rallies and awards banquets, and use of a suppressor/limiter.

USC's Director of Video Operations for the Athletic Department Luke Goldstein states, "This is a slick system. I wish we could duplicate this installation, quality and ease-of-use in the rest of the meeting rooms. It's a showcase and a tribute to the athletic department and has even enhanced the recruiting experience as well. One look at this as a recruit and you're hooked."
